This is a shout out to one of my favourites, the super-fantastic Lesley Barber
I’ve worked on and off with Lesley since 2006, and in fact, it was she who introduced me to the world of Film Music Scoring.
At that time, I was in cartoon-land having just finished my second television series for Nelvana, but still working part-time at Long & McQuade – Toronto in Keyboards/Software.
Her assistant at the time had come in, and by chance I ended up talking with her. We hit it off and I ended up going to LB’s studio to investigate a tech gremlin. Solved! LB and I hit it off and the rest is history.
My first foray into the film score world was working for Lesley on a movie called “Comeback Season” starring Ray Liotta. Since them we’ve worked together on a ton of things. I think we make each other laugh, which is crucial when the heat is on!
Fast forward to late 2014, this is one of my favourite experiences:
Here we are, both of us sitting in my studio drinking tea, recording an orchestra on the other side of the world via Source Connect for a Feature called “How to Change the World”. How cool is that? We’re both sitting there, amazed that this was not only possible but also flawless!
Firsts! She had me jet-setting for the first time to New York, as well as Capitol Records and Sony Scoring Stage in LA!
Like all gigs, you end up meeting some great people, among them Annelise Noronha and Robert Fernandez!
Anyway, Love ya LB!!
