This is one of the funniest shows I’ve Composed on to date. One of the leads is voiced by Sean Cullen as Emperor Brainlius. Watching Seán sing in character at a voice record was one of my favourite spectacles to see, having grown up listening to Corky and the Juicepigs!
Directed by Adrian Thatcher, it’s a 3D comedy in the best way: Lots of burp and fart jokes spanning 80 x 13 minute episodes!!
Mike Northcott is the head of Music at Nelvana, and honestly, couldn’t ask for a better Bossman! And, he’s a fellow MIA alumni along with Brett! The Posse!
FUN FACT: (well not really) I had started composing Episode 2 of this show, and heard a gurgling noise. It had been raining an insane amount and the entire drainage system for my neighbourhood pooched, and my house flooded. Let’s just say, having a studio in the basement sucks at times like this!! The *ENTIRE* post-production schedule was moved later by 2 weeks to accommodate the disaster. I have no idea how Mike swung this, but THANKS! AHH!!!!!!!
I met Brett Carruthers and Steph Misayo Seki for the first time on this show as they composed the theme! Now, we tend to run into each other around the world by accident.. Tokyo… LA… who knows where the next place will be!??! (now we all get matching tattoos to commemorate such occasions!)
